Earthquake Warning California is the nation’s first publicly available, statewide earthquake warning system. The system uses ground motion sensors to detect earthquakes before humans can feel them and notify those close by to take protective actions in advance of an earthquake. Earthquake Warning California includes tools such as the MyShake App, Android Earthquake Alerts, and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs -- the same system used for AMBER alerts), but also includes free educational resources and materials available on the website,
